The U.S. House Agriculture Committee recently released its version of the Farm Bill, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024. This bill includes dangerous language that could nullify state laws designed to protect farmed animals and threaten states’ rights.

We must act now to stop this harmful language from becoming law.

If passed, this language could invalidate crucial farmed animal protection laws such as California’s Proposition 12 and Massachusetts’ Question 3, which address some of the cruelest forms of animal confinement on factory farms. This would not only undermine animal welfare but also the ability of states to set their own health, safety, and welfare standards.

It’s time to take action.

Contact your representative and urge them to vote NO on this version of the Farm Bill. With all House members up for reelection this November, it's crucial to also ask for their stance on preserving states’ rights to enact their own protections.

Join us in taking a stand against this outrageous threat to animal welfare and states’ rights.
