This year, Zinnia made a trip from Iowa to California thanks to this fund!
Zinnia was born a twin to a male calf at an Iowa dairy farm. This left her unable to get pregnant, which means she would never produce milk for the farm to sell.
She was placed in a calf hutch, that’s her in the photo behind this text! This small housing is where she would have lived for months, until she was slaughtered for veal.
A farm worker didn’t want to see that happen and contacted another sanctuary, who contacted Animal Place.
Thanks to the Rescue, Medical, and Transport fund, we were able to transport her from Iowa to California. A few months later, another calf at the same farm needed rescue, and we brought her out, too!
