Don Juan
Don Juan, the charismatic rooster, exudes a powerful presence as a fierce protector of his flock. Despite his bold nature, he also craves attention and seeks reassurance, revealing a touch of insecurity. Found abandoned in a local park, he was rescued by dedicated staff who recognized his unique spirit. Now, safely nestled at Animal Place, Don Juan continues to captivate hearts with his captivating personality and unwavering spirit.
Keegan
Keegan, the wise and courageous cow, possesses an old soul that shines through his mature demeanor. Alongside Ethan, Florence, Phoenix, and Calvin, he is a survivor of a misguided “rescue” that neglected their medical needs for a week. Sadly, they suffer from a condition that prevents them from joining other cows. Your support will help provide specialized care and a safe environment for Keegan and his fellow bovine friends to live out their lives with dignity and comfort.
Pierre
In loving memory of Pierre, a kind and protective rooster. Rescued by a volunteer from a feed-store where male rooster chicks were given away for free. Roosters were used as “packing peanuts” during shipping to keep the hen chicks warm. Pierre’s life was spared from the likely fate of slaughter thanks to the compassion and intervention of our dedicated volunteer. His legacy lives on as a symbol of resilience and the importance of standing up for those who cannot protect themselves.
Johnny
Johnny, the courageous leghorn hen, defied the odds and escaped the grim fate of a battery cage egg farm. Without our intervention, she would have been subjected to a cruel fate—gassed and discarded in a landfill. Thanks to the legal liberation, Johnny found her forever home at Animal Place, where she thrives in a life of freedom and happiness. With her curious nature, flighty demeanor, and vibrant personality, Johnny reminds us of the resilience and individuality of every precious life we save.
Shelby
Shelby, the courageous cow, had a rough start in life. Whether she fell off a transport truck or escaped from a dairy farm, she found herself abandoned by the side of a busy highway. Animal Place volunteers discovered her, malnourished and weighing forty pounds less than she should. Despite her challenging past, Shelby’s spirit remains unbroken. She exudes confidence, sass, and friendliness, always eager to groom and care for her fellow bovine companions. At Animal Place, she has found safety, love, and the chance to live a fulfilling life.
Zeke
Zeke is a remarkable survivor and a gentle soul. After her rooster companion fearlessly defended her from a mountain lion attack, she found herself the sole survivor of their flock. Despite the tragedy, Zeke remains sweet-natured and seeks comfort and affection from humans. With a heart full of resilience and a kind spirit, she brightens our days as she follows us around the yard and curls up in our laps, reminding us of the power of love and companionship.
Tiny Comb
Tiny Comb, a hen who has since passed away, endured unimaginable hardships. In 2012, she was one of the 4,460 hens rescued from a Turlock egg farm. These hens were part of a massive cruelty case, where 50,000 hens were abandoned and left without food for over two weeks. Despite the challenges of starvation, neglect, and fear of humans, Tiny Comb found solace at the sanctuary. She loved napping beneath the perches in the barn and reminded us of the resilience and strength of these remarkable animals. May she rest in peace
Magnolia
Magnolia, the embodiment of kindness and compassion, found her forever home at Animal Place. Unwanted by a dairy farm due to her inability to conceive, Magnolia formed a deep bond with her companion, Shelby. Known for her gentle nature, Magnolia effortlessly fosters a sense of belonging among her fellow cows. She even helped blind-cow Daffodil experience the joy of play. Your support ensures Magnolia and her friends continue to thrive in a loving and nurturing sanctuary.
Cupcake
In loving memory of Cupcake, a brave and resilient hen who was rescued from a farm that raised chickens for slaughter. Despite the challenging conditions and neglect, Cupcake and over 600 other birds found salvation and sanctuary. Cupcake’s spirit lives on, inspiring us to continue fighting for the rights and well-being of all animals. Join us in honoring Cupcake’s memory by supporting our mission to provide love, care, and protection to animals in need.
